Guest Checkout

Published 2026-09-06

Guest checkout lets someone complete a specific transaction — a purchase, a submission — without creating a persistent account first, trading the ongoing relationship and reusable credential an account would provide for lower friction at the moment of the transaction itself. For the transaction in question, this usually means the necessary authorization is scoped entirely to that single transaction, with no standing access left behind once it completes.

This still requires its own authorization design, not an absence of one: the transaction has to be tied to enough information to complete and, if needed, to look up or dispute later, without that information becoming a way to access anything beyond the single transaction it was collected for.
